LET’S STRAND TOGETHER

With your support we can transform a much-loved cinema from yesterday into a stunning arts and community venue for tomorrow.

Take your seats, the show is about to begin

Our vision is to transform this iconic and treasured building, and its overall impact – preserving its 1930s heritage but delivering spaces and activities that meet the needs of our audiences and artists today.

90% of the multi-million-pound project costs will come from a combination of Belfast City Council, National Lottery Heritage Fund and other sources including trusts and foundations. But you can play your part in raising the remaining 10% by naming a seat in the refurbished building. You will have an inscription on a plaque on a seat in either Theatre 1 (the original Art Deco balcony) or Theatre 2 (the old Front Stalls with stage). Plaques will remain for the lifespan of the seats.

Donate as a business or an individual, in your own name or for a loved one.

Corporate Seat £300 Individual Seat £180 (payable in one lump sum or 18 monthly instalments of £10)

Theatre 1 (250 seats)

Audiences will enjoy the nostalgia of sitting in the original cinema balcony that will be restored to its former Art Deco glory. New staging layouts will open up the possibilities of this space for theatre, music and comedy. Theatre 1 will also add plenty of character to any conferencing and other events.

Theatre 2 (160 seats)

The original front stalls, Theatre 2 is a stunning auditorium with nautical influences including porthole windows and lights, as well as plenty of atmosphere and pitch perfect acoustics. Improved backstage facilities will accommodate bigger casts, and touring productions with larger sets.

Donate today to create a lasting legacy for tomorrow. All seat donors will be invited to a special event in advance of the official re-opening of the Strand Arts Centre.
