Streets of East Belfast; Origin and Evolution

Explore the origin and evolution of our local streetscape in this fascinating session!

Are you interested in how our urban environment  has changed over the years? Have you ever wondered where our local street names came from?

Did you know that a cluster of streets in east Belfast are named after horse-racing champions? Or that many street names are reminders of historic industries and long-gone grand houses?

Learn more about our local streetscape and contribute your own memories!

Part of our ‘Tuesday Talks’ programme:  free talks about the heritage of the local area, followed by a cuppa and a chat. Hosted by the Strand at our pop-up venue at Connswater Shopping Centre. Made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund
